The Treatment Team

 

Michael Upton, M.D.              Medical Director
Dr. Upton graduated from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine and completed residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.  He has worked in a number of settings including inpatient psychiatry, substance abuse treatment centers and community mental health.  Dr. Upton is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.

 

Jodie Bisson, M.A.      Program Director
Ms.  Bisson has been a Licensed Psychologist-Masters since 1995. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont and her graduate training at St. Michael’s College.  Ms. Bisson was trained as a DBT therapist in 1992 during her 8-year employment at Washington County Mental Health.  She was the clinical director of the Continuum Program before joining Matrix Health Systems as the Director of the Crossroads Program in 2000. Ms. Bisson is certified by the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification. 

 

Louise Moon Rosales, APRN          Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Ms. Rosales is a board certified family nurse practitioner, who holds a second board certification in adult psychiatric and mental health.  She completed her B.S. and M.S.N. at Fairfield University, and a post-master’s certificate at the University of Vermont in 2007.  She currently practices in both college health and adult psychiatry.

 

Danielle Seymour, M.S.          Group Leader / Case Manager
Ms. Seymour is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.  She earned her Master’s Degree from Antioch University New England in 2012.  Danielle did both of her internships at Washington County Mental Health Services, and was then hired as a full-time clinician at the agency.  She has experience with individuals across the lifespan with a wide variety of presenting problems. Her primary focus has been on learning and practicing the DBT model of treatment, with a secondary interest in trauma.  Danielle holds a bachelor’s degree in dance and uses that training to enhance her ability to connect the mind and body in therapeutic settings.

 

Kristina Syverson, MS, NCC Group Leader / Case Manager
Ms. Syverson is a nationally certified, non-licensed psychotherapist.  She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont.  As part of her graduate program, she worked as a clinical intern with the Crossroads Program.  Ms. Syverson is an active member of the DBT Learning Community.  Prior to her psychotherapy training and practice, Ms. Syverson was a nationally certified educator, developing programs to increase adolescent academic and quality of life success.

 

Nicholas Grudev, MS, NCC              Group Leader / Case Manager
Mr. Grudev is a nationally certified, non-licensed psychotherapist.  He received his Master’s degree in counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Vermont.  He has worked at the UVM Medical Center, specifically at the MindBody Medicine Clinic and the Seneca Center.  His primary focus has been learning and utilizing the DBT model of treatment.

 

The treatment team typically includes an MA or and MS level intern who is supervised by a licensed clinician.
